Our Statement of Faith

Ebenezer Brethren Assembly exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and to spread the gospel as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. Through worship meetings that remember the death and resurrection of Christ, and through gatherings for prayer, fellowship, and the ministry of God’s Word, the local church is committed to maintaining and teaching the truths of Scripture—equipping believers, developing leadership, and encouraging missionary work in accordance with Matthew 28:19–20. The Statement of Faith below expresses the core biblical doctrines that guide the Assembly’s life, worship, ordinances, and ministry.

We believe in:

  1. The divine inspiration and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures (the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible) as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct
  1. The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead
  2. The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgment
  1. The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation
  2. Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin is only through the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ (as our Representative and Substitute), the incarnate Son of God
  3. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death
  1. The necessity of work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ
  2. The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer
  3. That we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, such that we can proclaim His excellencies (1 Pet 2:9)
  1. The water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Table (or Lord’s Supper) are the only ordinances of the Church
  1. The institution of marriage is designed and intended by God to be a sacred covenant between a man and a woman (Matt 19: 4-6)
  1. The pre-tribulation rapture of the Church
  2. The eternal security of Salvation
  3. The expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ
  4. Those who die in Christ pass immediately into His presence and remains in conscious bliss, and in resurrection assumes the glorified body, whereupon united with soul shall be associated with Him forever in glory.
